Cumulus Retail is a software platform developed for small and mid-size retailers to help them manage their business operations via a single system. Cumulus features a Getting Started Wizard that helps users with the setup process while the System Configuration option helps users set up the software in a customizable way. Cumulus Retail users can add frequently sold items to the Quick-Select Item Menu to help process sales efficiently. Cumulus allows users to search for products based on descriptions, style, or keywords and permits authorized users to update pricing levels for each item that is entered into the database.
Cumulus Retail supports various registers per store and multi-store tracking. The software accepts a wide range of tender types including checks, cash, debit cards, credit cards, layaway Gift Cards, and Apple Pay. Cumulus Retail can also handle multiple transaction types such as price checks, returns, email receipts, bulk pricing changes, accounts receivable management, hold and recall hold, special orders, and inter-store product transfers.
Cumulus Retail helps users in customer management and creates multiple customer types and categories to effectively manage their activity. Cumulus has an inventory and product management system that helps users import products from the vendor catalog and assign products and department levels. Users can also create templates to help expedite product entry. Cumulus Retail integrates with an Cumulus eCommerce add-on module, which offers a professional layout and design, basic reporting option, and an embedded video option. The premier version of Cumulus eCommerce can be integrated with Walmart Marketplace, Fulfillment by Amazon, and eBay. Cumulus Retail’s cross-platform capability helps customers purchase a product online and return it in-store.
As we were one of the first adopters we had a few issues, but they were addressed in a timely manner. We converted over to Cumulus from Retail Star, and I was a little disappointed that some of the main features that I used on a daily basis were not accessible on day 1. After some updates these features are accessible now.
Ease of use with a host of features. Cloud based allows for Inventory access from anywhere with Internet access.
We had the local server option install for redundancy, but this service can be slow at times. Plus any updates to products are not instant.

All my products transfered over to the new data base, my empolyees love our new touchscreen cash register monitor, customer support and training people are awesome to work with! Overall the product is super easy to work with.
When ordering on a PO I wish there was a way to see "on hand" items on the same screen as the PO. (I heard that this will be in an upcoming update though). Also, I wish I could just hit the ENTER button when doing searches (instead of mousing up to the search button).
CSR made this change over tolerable! They seem to understand our needs and concerns and in my opinion, they have been extremely helpful.
I feel that the combination of our Cumulus operation system and our website, our 65 year old business might be able to come of age in the 21st century.
This system is much slower when it comes to saving and finishing at the pos and back office compared to Retail Star.
This has everything I need to run a indoor shooting range and gun shop. Once products are imported correctly it is vary easy
I wish it was easier to take in used guns through the system. every once in a wile i can use the same log in and have to use another.
