The best thing about it is that you can use SNMP, Windows server, Linux server, a large number of distributions, Apple computers, and other devices to watch any kind of network device.
Vantagens
I like that the software can be used to watch both Windows and Linux servers. I also like that it can be installed in different ways. The customer service is great because they respond quickly, and the dashboard view makes it easy to monitor.
Desvantagens
It might be hard to understand tool at first. but it gets easier once you put in the work and time to look at all the benefits. Maybe an involved audience would help people feel more at ease faster. Not much else to worry about once you learn how to use software.

Pandora FMS is an excellent tool for organizations that require extensive customization and flexibility in monitoring a wide range of IT systems. However, it may not be the best fit for those looking for a simple, easy-to-use solution. Its comprehensive capabilities make it ideal for medium to large enterprises with complex infrastructures that need continuous monitoring and in-depth reporting.
Vantagens
One of the standout features is its flexibility. Pandora FMS supports different environments and can monitor a wide range of devices, platforms, and services.
Desvantagens
While functional, the user interface might feel outdated or overwhelming to some users, especially those accustomed to more modern, intuitive designs.

Vantagens
The thing I like the most it's the easy of deploy. It's like "bring your own monitoring service", you set it up and you use it. So it only depends on you and that it's great if you know what you are doing and you want to personalize everything.
Desvantagens
The worst thing about Pandora it's the lack of some basic functionalities like other products offer like correlation of metrics and the horrible UX. Something as basic as server monitoring needs to be configured when in other products you just install their agent and that's it. Some monitors in pandora needs that configuration.

Hello Marcos,
First of all, thank you very much for sharing your experience with Pandora FMS. I guess you are using the community version (OpenSource) since the Enteprise version has alert correlation. I don't know exactly what features you have missed in the server monitoring because the standard agent (OpenSource) comes with several preconfigured checks, but it is true that Pandora FMS is so configurable that at first you may have the feeling that everything is to be done. We have to work more on templates in the OpenSource version (the Enteprise version has policies for different environments ready to use).
Regarding the UX I agree, it has been very outdated, so right now we are working on that, in a couple of months I invite you to come back to test it to see the change, the new GUI is a priority for us.

One of the most reliable monitoring system

Vantagens
It offers extensive monitoring capabilities. I can track various metrics, including server performance, network health, and even user experience, all in one platform. This has help me ensure all my mobile apps are performing optimally. The ability to tailor monitoring according to specific app requirements is a huge plus. I can create custom alerts and notifications that are essential for addressing issues promptly.
Desvantagens
While it is generally user-friendly, it can take a bit of time to fully grasp the huge number of features and capabilities. This initial learning curve can be a bit of a drawback. Also, I would love to have seamless integration for mobile app performance monitoring. While it's possible, it could be more straightforward.

Vantagens
It can easily help to collect logs,explore and to create trends,reports and graphs from the data collected. This can be used for alerting and works well cloud and local infrastructure
Desvantagens
No dislikes but it can expand its plugins and extensions similar to tools like grafana,kibana etc.
